Fortunoff to open first county store

Fortunoff, one of the New York metropolitan area's high-end retailers, is opening its first location in the Atlantic County region with a target date of Feb. 15, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.

The store will open at the Consumer Square shopping center across from the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.

Fortunoff spokeswoman Arlene Putterman said the location will be a "satellite store," selling indoor furniture during the fall and winter, and outdoor furniture in late winter, spring and summer.

At 31,000 square feet, the store will be one of the largest in the Long Island-based Fortunoff chain, which includes about 20 other stores throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. The flagship store is in Westbury, Long Island.

Another southern New Jersey location is expected to open this year in Deptford Township, Gloucester County.

the has-been

Like most Idahoans, Craig's colleagues take his backtracking personally. If a man's word is his bond, it's time to call the bounty hunter.

Out in Idaho, one citizen has stepped forward to answer the call. Brad Bristol, a nonaligned voter from Nampa, Idaho, just launched an Impeach Craig Web site. As the Idaho Statesman reports, Bristol was already mad that Craig supported comprehensive immigration reform, and couldn't take it anymore when the senator refused to leave as promised. Bristol hopes his Web site, Idahopower-less.com, can get the job done in 120 days, but admits that Craig is not much for deadlines. Craig's Senate colleagues can rest assured—their signatures will be kept confidential.

The Idaho Post-Register calls Craig a "serial liar," and nothing the man does can surprise anybody anymore.

The keyword must be populated with the time, in addition to the date, because HST crosses the SAA 8 times per day so each POST-SAA DARK will need to have the appropriate time specified, for users to identify the ones they need. Both the raw and processed images will be archived as POST-SAA DARKSs. Generally we expect that all NICMOS science/calibration observations started within 50 minutes of leaving an SAA will need such maps to remove the CR persistence from the science i mages. Each observation will need its own CRMAP, as different SAA passages leave different imprints on the NICMOS detectors.

The Physical Nature and Age of Lyman Alpha Galaxies

In the simplest scenario, strong Lyman alpha emission from high redshift galaxies would indicate that stellar populations younger than 10 Myrs dominate the UV.

Find a better spot for Renegade

Tuesday, Jan. 15, an article appeared in this paper "Business owner seeks rezoning to expand, add a dozen jobs." Eric Holmes, DBA Renegade Classics Outlet, a motorcycle franchise presently located at Johnny Appleseed Shopping Center, wants to expand his business and move to the former Baku Grotto Hall at 747 S. Main St. in a quiet residential neighborhood. In order to do this he must secure rezoning from B2 to B1.

I urgently suggest everyone who has an interest in this go online to renegadeclassics.com. Pay special attention to Outlet Parties and Bike Nights. Mr. Holmes' business is listed on this site. Do your homework.

Pat McKee: High School Q&A

Question: Now that New Albany has knocked off Marion and Evansville Reitz, do you consider the Bulldogs a serious contender to win the 4A title? (Chris from New Albany)

Answer: When I saw New Albany in the Hall of Fame Classic, it played very well and appeared to have the talent to be a state-title contender. I haven't seen all the top teams, so it's difficult to say for sure, but it appears the Bulldogs are one of the top contenders.

On the other hand, the Bulldogs aren't the kind of team that might overwhelm opponents like some previous champions have done. They will have to play well consistently and have good games against their best opponents if they are to get all the way through the tournament path.

Of course, the same could be said for a number of teams.

Paco Underhill knows why you shop 'til you drop at this time of year

A: I am the chief executive officer of a research and consulting firm that looks at the interaction between people and spaces, people and products and people and places. My second job is writing international best-selling books. And my third job is doing motivational speaking.Q: You have made your name by studying consumers and their behavior. It's almost like you've studied them as though they are a unique tribe in their own environment? How did you approach that?A: I am an observational researcher. Our work is based on the act of physically watching people as they move and interact. Over a typical year, we follow through a store, a bank, a museum, a train station, an airport, a hospital somewhere between 60,000 and 70,000 people. We follow them anonymously, meaning that we aren't interested in what their names are or where they come from.
