| Canseco book: Players injected each other
In the book, Canseco sticks to his 80 percent claim and says some MLB owners condoned steroid use because they felt a deluge of home runs would help win back the fans after the strike wiped out the 1994 World Series. Canseco says the Major League Baseball Players' Association also condoned steroid use because the power surge would ultimately increase the players' salaries. President Bush was the Rangers' managing general partner in the early 1990s, and Canseco reportedly says Bush must have known about the steroid use on that team. Yesterday, White House spokesman Trent Duffy said Bush's position on steroids "has been known for some time," noting that he condemned the drugs in his 2004 State of the Union address. Baseball stiffened its drug-testing policy this winter, as the owners and players union agreed to alter the collective bargaining agreement.

Teddy bear teacher flies out of Sudan
Finding one aspect of a country problematic does not influence your entire view of a country. Some people can be jealous of those who have the vision, education and ability to experience new cultures and move abroad - I assume you are one of those. Unlike you, I at least speak from first hand experience of life in an Islamic country under Sharia law and speak Arabic, so feel that my opinions may at least be based on valid and informed experience. Can you say the same??? .
Records explain death of student's newborn
But Brian Butler, an attorney for McCoy, said the razor blades didn't have anything to do with the child's death and he expects the medical examiner's report to reveal no finding of inflicted trauma to the baby. Butler said McCoy has been consistent in her statement to investigators and hospital employees that she believed the baby was stillborn. He said she shouldn't have been charged with murder. "There is no proof that indicates she killed this child," Butler said. "Nothing to indicate she drowned the child. Nobody said they heard a child cry." After the birth, McCoy is accused of putting the infant's body in a garbage bag and taking her to a trash room down the hall. Kelsey O'Leary, McCoy's roommate, told police she called her mother after seeing McCoy carry the garbage bag.
